CFTC Writes Prediction Markets Into Swap Rules and Carves Sportsbooks Out
Responding to states that warn federal oversight would swallow all sports betting, the CFTC on Oct. 9 proposed bringing sports, politics and weather contracts under its swap definition and issued an interim rule keeping sportsbooks and casino games outside it.
