Bitcoin devs bet a quantum attacker will play nice with a ‘wait and react’ plan

BitMEX Research suggests a canary system. This system would reward the first quantum attacker with a bounty and trigger a network-wide freeze. It offers an alternative to a predetermined five-year timeline for quantum readiness.
